Vipul Jain of Chandni Industries said, “We diversified into packaging business in November 2021, and are gradually establishing the setup. We selected the Dayuan die-cutter because of its micro embossing feature. It will help us to offer more options to our customers. Micro embossing is not only for mono cartons, it is also required for some high-end playing cards. Another reason to choose the die-cutter was its cutting pressure of 600 tonnes.” As the company is now targeting the toy manufacturing industry, the die-cutter will help the company cut plastic boxes as well. Dera Bassi-based Riddhi Siddhi Enterprises opted for an automatic folder-gluer. “Riddhi Siddhi purchased our first 100% Make in India performance series automatic folder-gluer, RI-INSTAFOLD-850PC,” Prem Vishwakarma, director, Robus India, said. Bahadurgarh-based Mehamia Shoe Packaging opted for an automatic die-cutting machine. “Mehamia has been using our die-cutting and folder-glueing kit for the last one-and-a-half years. It is a sign of the company’s satisfaction with the machine performance and our services that it purchased its third machine from us, our confidence series model MHC-1100E,” Vishwakarma said. Ghaziabad-based Prem Industries opted for an automatic die-cutting machine with stripping. “Prem has been using two automatic die-cutting machines and one folder-gluer from Robus for the last four years. The company is happy with the makeready time and the stripping section of the die-cutting machine. In a significant push for Make In India, Robus India has launched its 100% India-made Instafold folder-gluer with Braille embossing capability at Printpack India 2022. The Robus Instafold is specifically designed to meet the requirements of the pharma and the corrugated industries. Highly efficient, the folder-gluer can produce cartons at speeds up to 450 meters per minute, with very short makereadies and changeover. The folder-gluer is also equipped with functionalities such as clapping device, motorized conveyor, and vacuum feeder and is capable of producing 3, 5, and 7 ply corrugated cartons. Robus to go live with folder-gluer at PrintPack

Robus India is set to make a forceful pitch for its make in India Direction Series folder-gluer – Instafold, at the show. Launched early this year in January, Robus will be running the kit live at the show. The company has four orders and the machines are expected to be installed by June 2022. The folder-gluer comes in a range of 650 to 1,100mm and has a maximum speed of 400 mtr/min. It is equipped with a pneumatic blank pile vibrator, gluing tank designed for easy cleaning, independent AC motor for trombone section and is ready to retrofit. Started in 1985 in Delhi as Chawla & Sons by Bharat Bhushan Chawla, the company used to produce sweet boxes as job work. However, today it provides comprehensive packaging solutions in-house from prepress, and printing through final product. The company produces sweets boxes for Haldiram and Bikanervala, toy boxes, TV boxes, and green crackers boxes in addition to providing festive and gift packaging solutions. Robus India breaks technology monopolies in folding-carton segment

In January 2022, Robus India introduced its Direction series of folder-gluer machines, manufactured 100% in-house by Robus India and its R&D team to promote the ‘Make in India’ initiative. According to Robus, the new machine is tailor-made and has benefits like just-in-time delivery, best buy-back offer, ready-to-retrofit with proven in-line Braille unit, with easy to track daily production report and downtime in a mobile app, collecting table, and upcoming features like 4/6 corner attachment, etc. Prem Viswakarma, who himself is an R&D guy who worked at Bobst before starting his own company Robus India, says, “Until recently, we used to get our folder-gluers designed in China as per our specifications based on the requirements and feedback of our customers. We then further customize these machines, if required, at our plant in India before finally dispatching them to our customers. In other words, we used to build our machines at Chinese plants – leveraging the R&D and expertise of both parties.
